Kawempe Muslim Ladies Football Club were crowned 2023/24 FUFA Women Super League Champions at their home ground in Kawempe on Sunday.

This happened after they defeated last season’s Champions Kampala Queens Football Club 2-0 with goals scored by Agnes Nabukenya and Allen Nassaazi.

Nabukenya who doubled as the League top scorer and Most Valuable Player netted the first goal of the game in the 67th minute with a beautiful free kick outside the area.

With three minutes to the 80th minute mark, Allen Nassaazi headed home a Samalie Nakacwa freekick to double Kawempe’s lead.

This result meant that Kawempe maintained their lead up top the League by four points (40 pts to 36 pts) to clinch the first League trophy in the last two seasons.

Therefore Kawempe will represent Uganda in the CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers to see who will take the spot to represent East and Central Africa in the CAF Women Champions League.
