Ugandan defender Jordan Obita has completed his move to English Championship side Wycombe Wanderers.
The 27-year old left-back joins the Chairboys on a two-year employment contract from league 1 outfits Oxford United, a side he joined in November last year.
“Jordan’s got great experience at this level and is a player that we’ve always been impressed by, both at Reading and the clubs he’s played for on loan.” Wycombe head coach Alinsworth told the Wycombe Wanderers website.
“He’s quick, he’s got a good delivery and he can do both sides of the game, both defensively and going forward, so he’ll be a really important addition to the squad for us.”
“Joe Jacobson has made that left-back spot his own for seven years and rightly so because he’s been an outstanding performer for us, but it’s an area where we’re light on cover and Jordan comes in to give us that extra option down the left side.”
Obita was born in Oxford town to Ugandan parents 26-years ago and has featured for all the England National team Under age groups ( U-18, U-19,U-20 and U-21).
He left Reading FC having featured in 191 games in 10 years in all competitions and found the back on the net seven times.
Obita, who can also play in the left-wing position has featured 15 times for the U’s this season in the English league one and now joins Wycombe Wanderers which is also the home of another cranes international Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru.
