Uganda Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry has said his team possesses the quality to cause defending champions Morocco problems in the last Group C encounter.

Shortly after faltering to a disappointing 2-1 loss to debutants Togo, head coach McKnistry still believes his side can still make it to the knockout round of the 2020 Africa Nations championship in Cameroon.

Saidi Kyeyune’s thunderous strike was not enough as the Cranes lost to the Sparrow hawks following an own goal from defender Patrick Mbowa that was supplemented by Richard Nane’s wonderful strike.

McKinstry says if his team can reproduce the performance they put up in the second half against Togo especially in the second half, they can  get a good result in their final group game.

“As a nation our target is still to go deep into the tournament, and if we can reproduce our display tonight expecially in the second half and add alot bit of quality on the finishing touch, we can get a result against Morocco,” he said.

“So when that happens, we will be off to the quarterfinals and will be aiming forever. I know people are disappointed now as everyone is after a loss but we have to get our heads up and know that we have the quality to go cause Morocco problems,” he added.

The cranes who now sit bottom of the log in group C will play top-placed Morocco in their last group game on January 26th and only need a win to progress to the knockout stage of continental tournament.
