Uganda’s Jacob Kiplimo shattered the 15K world record with a 40:42 finish at the ZevenHeubenloop 7 Hills Race in Nijmegen, Netherlands, on Sunday, November 17, 2024.
The two-time world cross-country champion eclipsed the previous 41:05 record jointly held by him and fellow countryman Joshua Cheptegei.
This is technically the fastest time in a standalone race, however Kiplimo has run an even faster time across the distance with a time of 40:27 at the 15km mark when he broke the half lmarathon world record in Lisbon three years ago.
