In the high-stakes race for the RCA Men’s T20 League title, IPRC Kigali and Challengers Cricket Club are engaged in a gripping competition.

Both teams emerged victorious over the weekend, maintaining a close battle at the top of the standings, tied on points but separated by net run rate.

Challengers Cricket Club currently leads the table with three wins from three matches, boasting a superior net run rate over IPRC Kigali, who share the same flawless record.

On Saturday, April 20th, IPRC Kigali secured a commanding 96-run victory over Zonic Tigers.

Opting to bat first after winning the toss, IPRC posted a challenging total of 147/6 in 20 overs, with Isae Niyomugabo contributing a vital 63 off 49 balls.

Zonic Tigers faltered in their chase, managing only 51 runs—the lowest score of the tournament so far.

IPRC Kigali has demonstrated dominance this season, having also defeated Kutchi Sports Club, Indorwa Cricket Club, and Zonic Tigers.

The following day, April 21st, Challengers CC clinched a five-wicket win against Kutchi Sports Club.

After electing to bat first, Kutchi struggled and were bowled out for a mere 59 runs.

Challengers CC chased down the target in the 19th over to maintain their perfect record.

As anticipation builds, IPRC Kigali and Challengers CC are yet to face each other in the group stage, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in the tournament’s grand finale between the top two teams.

In other weekend matches, Right Guards Cricket Club returned to winning ways by defeating Indorwa Cricket Club by five wickets.

After just nine matches, the batting charts are dominated by IPRC’s Oscar Manishimwe (177 runs) and Isae Niyomugabo (104 runs).

Meanwhile, Ezekiel Muhawenimana of Right Guards Cricket Club leads the bowling statistics with eight wickets, and Jean Baptiste Hakizimana tops the fielding stats with five dismissals.

The ongoing battle for supremacy in the RCA Men’s T20 League promises more excitement and thrilling performances as the league progresses towards its climax.
