ICC U-19 World Cup : final Baby Cricket Cranes squad named

The Uganda Cricket Association ( UCA) has named a final 15-man Baby Cricket Cranes squad for the 2022 International Cricket Council ( ICC) Under-19 World Cup in West Indies.

The World Cup will happen between 14th January to 4th February 2022.

The squad consists of all the 14 players that secured qualification in September after winning the African qualifiers in Kigali, Rwanda – overturning a huge Net Run Rate on the final day against Tanzania.

Off-spinning all-rounder Edwin Nuwagaba is the only new addition to the squad.

The team will be captained by Pascal Murungi with Ismail Munir his vice.

Uganda is pitted in group B with Ireland, South Africa and India for the tournament which will begin in January 2022.

The team, that has been preparing since November 1st will depart the country on January 1st and will arrive in West Indies on January 3rd.

Before the finals, they will play two warm-up games against Sri Lanka and Scotland to fine-tune the team.
