Ibrahim Saddam Juma: Four clubs in pursuit of the attacking midfielder

Four Uganda Premier League clubs including champions Express FC, Vipers SC, SC Villa and KCCA FC are all in pursuit of attacking midfielder Saddam Juma, who last played a competitive match a year ago, The Touchline Sports‘ sources can reveal.

Ibrahim Saddam Juma parted ways with 13-time UPL champions KCCA FC at the end of the 2019/20 season after he ran out his 3-year contract and decided not to renew with the club, despite reports coming out that he had been let go.

After leaving KCCA FC, Saddam Juma sat out the 2020/21 season. It is believed that it was a decision he took so as to recover from his recurring injuries before returning to feature for any club.

Amongst some of the clubs that have been rumoured to be interested in the former KKL player are current champions, Express FC who are believed to be leading the pursuit for Juma’s signature as they preparing for continental football next season.

The Red Eagles will need the experience of the midfielder who has already been exposed to continental football with KCCA, featuring in the CAF Champions League and the CAF Confederation Cup.

Juma has previously worked played for Express FC before crossing over to Lugogo in May 2017.

Four-time UPL champions Vipers Sports Club, a club he played for in his early days is believed to be also pursuing the midfielder’s signature in a bid to strengthen their squad which lucks experienced players in the midfield role. The creative midfielder has played for the Kitende based side on two stints and was part of the team that won them their first league title in 2010.

The Kasasiro Boys are also believed to be chasing for the midfielder’s signature with a possible return to Lugogo after the departure of attacking midfielder Keziron Kizito and the fear that midfielder Gift Ali may not renew his stay at Lugogo.

The other team that has been listed amongst the teams that would wish to have Sadam Juma’s signature are 16-time Uganda Premier League champions SC Villa, who are also in a rebuilding process with more departures imminent, after confirmation that midfielders Ronald Ssekiganda and Emmanuel Wasswa are out of the club.

Geoffrey Wasswa and Derrick Ndahiro are reported to have already left the club. The Jogoos are believed to be ready to present Juma with an opportunity to reinvent his career after staying out of the action for the whole 2020/21 season.
