Ibra Kayanja Triumphs in PAU End-of-Year Championship Final

Former Ugandan Seed 1 Kayanja Ibra, known as “Musilamu,” emerged victorious in the anticipated Pool Association of Uganda (PAU) End-of-Year Championship.

Kayanja secured a hard-fought 9-7 victory over Zambia’s top shooter Kelvin “Fikoti” Nkandu in the men’s final.

The PAU End-of-Year Championship is one of the most prestigious events on Uganda’s pool calendar, attracting top talent and offering players an opportunity to showcase their skills on a grand stage and this time it saw two of Zambia’s best talents Kelvin and Moses Mofya take part.

After trailing 1-3 early in the match, Kayanja mounted a stunning comeback to lead 7-4. Kelvin fought back to level the game at 7-7, but Kayanja’s composure sealed a memorable 9-7 victory. On his way to victory he also defeated Uganda’s Seed 1 Caesar Chandiga.

In the women’s category, Naiga Rukia clinched the title after defeating her sister, Mutesi Rashida, in an all-family final. Nimusiima Ritah secured third place, while 2024 National Open Champion Kisakye Marion finished fourth.
