A week after leading Uganda’s national women’s basketball team, the Gazelles to victory in the FIBA AfroBasket Zone V tournament, Captain Jane Asinde has signed with Durán Maquinaria Ensino Lugo in Spain.

The club announced her arrival via their social media platforms, stating, “Bienvenida a Lugo,” which translates to “Welcome to Lugo.”

Asinde makes the move from Henan Phoenix in China.

The 25-year-old has been a standout player for Uganda, particularly in the recently concluded AfroBasket qualifiers, where she earned MVP honors with impressive averages of 18 points and 10 rebounds per game.
