Gabriel Matata: youngster makes FUFA Big League switch

Youngster Gabriel Matata has completed his switch to FUFA Big League side Mbarara City, Touchline Sports confirm.

Matata, who has been a free agent following the expiration of his employment contract at Onduparaka FC has put pen to paper on a two year deal until the end of the 2024/25 season.

The youngster joined Onduparaka FC at the start of the 2020/21 season on a two-year contract after impressing for Mvara FC in the 2019/20 West Nile Regional League season. He had 14 goals in 10 games.

After their relegation from StarTimes Uganda Premier League, Mbarara City has retained only 10 players from those who featured for the club last season in top flight.

Matata becomes the club’s first official new addition this window as the club aims to get back to the Uganda’s top flight league.
