FWSL: Kawempe Muslim come from behind to pick a point as UCU return to winning ways


Another week in the FUFA Women Super League is wrapped up as Kawempe Muslim hold She Coporates to their fourth draw of the 2022/23 season, Olila, UCU, Rines SS all win just like Kampala Queens who maintain their 100 percent record of the campaign.

Kawempe Muslim WFC got their fourth draw of the campaign after coming from behind to level the game against She Corporate FC 1-1 on Sunday morning at the Kawempe Grounds.

The two goals of the game came in from Spencer Nakacwa who scored late in the first half with four minutes to go on the She Corporate side.

In the second half, hit-woman Hadija Nandago leveled matters for Ayub Khalifa’s charges with 10 minutes on the clock.

Still on Sunday, Rines SS won their second game in a row 4-1 against a struggling Asubo Gafford at the Kabaka Kyabbagu Stadium.

Rines goals came in from Eva Naggayi who put up a brace, lethal goal scorer Yasmeen Nalukwago and later on Phiona Arachi. Gafford’s consolation was scored by Halima Nakaayi.

Lastly, Resty Nanziri added on her tally as she won the game for Kampala Queens away in Masindi against a resilient Lady Doves side.

They continue their perfect start to the season with a 100 percent record after making it 7wins in 7 games.

On Saturday, Uganda Matyrs lost their second game of this season in Soroti as they visited Olila High School at the Soroti Grounds.

Olila won it 4-1 with goals from Bira Nadunga, Eunice Ariokot and a brace from Cecilia Apiding in added time. The Lubaga girls only goal was netted by on-form Brenda Munyana in the early stage of the game.

In the first game of the match day, UCU Lady Cardinals returned to winning ways as they edged Makerere University Women Football Club 2-1 at the UCU grounds, Mukono.

The two goals of the Mukono side were scored by League top scorer Asiat Nalugwa with six(6) and Jovia Nakagolo. Makerere University Women team’s consolation was scored by the Daphine Nalubowa who is also the top scorer of the team.
