FUFA confirms u17 and u20 technical team - the touchline sports

The Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) has confirmed the appointment of the technical teams for both Uganda Men U20 (Hippos) and U17 (Cubs) teams ahead of the AFCON Regional qualifiers.

Via the FUFA website, Morley Byekwaso has been confirmed as the Hippos head coach and will be assisted by former Onduparaka and now URA FC trainer Simeon Masaba, while the Uganda Cubs will be coached by Hamzah Lutalo with Mbarara’s Brian Ssenyondo as his assistant.

Byekwaso retains his position as the Hippos head coach having been appointed last year ahead of the CECAFA U20 championship in Jinja.

U-20 (The Hippos)
  • Byekwaso Morley -Head Coach

  • Kiggundu Stephen Billy – Goalkeeping Coach
  • Lule Micheal- Team Physician
U-17 (The Cubs)
  • Lutalo Hamzah – Head Coach
  • Ssenyondo Brian- Assistant Coach
  • Kyesimira Arthur- Fitness Coach
  • Kiberu Mubarak- Goalkeeping Coach
  • Kabatalindwa Mable- Team Physician

Both technical teams start work with immediate effect and have been appointed for a period of just six months.

The appointments come less than a day after both teams (Cubs and Hippos) were drawn into their respective groups.

The Cubs were pit in group B with Kenya and Ethiopia for AFCON U17 qualifiers in Rwanda in December while the Hippos are also in group B with Burundi, Eritrea and South Sudan for the AFCON U20 qualifiers in Tanzania.
