Midfielder Frank ‘Zaga’ Tumwesigye says he is looking at developing his talent at Police FC after leaving Vipers SC ahead of the 2020/21 StarTimes UPL.
The 21-year old on Wednesday evening, at the Police offices in Kibuli, completed a switch to Police FC from Vipers SC and put pen to paper on a two-year contract which will last until 2022.
Upon unveiling, the former Kibuli SSS player revealed that the reason he is joining the 2005 Uganda Premier league champions is to develop his talent.
“I feel so great doing this (signing),” Zaga said before adding that, “I’m already feeling at home here. I’m looking at developing my talent, and working hard to make sure that both the club and myself achieve our goals.”
“Teamwork and support will help us achieve our mission. Our fans will not be disappointed. We shall deliver and we will win great things.”
Last season at Vipers SC, Zaga struggled for significant game time having started only 3 league games the whole season.
Due to competition, with the likes of Karim Watambala, Siraje Ssentamu, Bobosi Byaruhanga, and new signings, David Bagoole and Jamil Kalisa, a move to Police will give the talented midfielder more playing time and experience.
Zaga was close to joining the Cops on loan in the 2018-19 season but the deal fell through in the last minute, only for the midfielder to join the Six-time Express FC.
Zaga becomes the club’s ninth signing after Eric Ssenjobe, Hassan Mahmood, Sammon Oloka, Muwadda Mawejje, Tom Ikara, Arnold Ssembuya, Tony Mawejje, and Derrick Ochan was signing in the recent weeks.
