Musamali’s nomination was a result of her remarkable presence at the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier in December 2023 in Entebbe profoundly impacted Uganda’s performance, notably in bowling.

Additionally, Musamali’s unbeaten 31 against Rwanda and resilient 35* versus Tanzania during the semifinal demonstrated her batting prowess and the outstanding performance earned her the Player of the Match award for her stellar display in batting.
Her contribution in setting competitive total against Zimbabwe solidified her as a dependable middle-order batter.
She finished third in the overall batting stats, accumulating 107 runs across five innings with an impressive strike rate of 82.31.
Consylate Aweko Nimungu on the other hand was nominated because she proved instrumental in the ICC Women’s T20 World Cup Africa Qualifier 2023.
As the captain of the team, by leading from the front her exceptional bowling talent, notably with a 4.75 economy rate and crucial wickets in five matches, was evident.
Noteworthy performances against Namibia and Nigeria, despite challenges from Tanzania, highlighted her adaptability. Securing two consecutive Player of the Match awards underlined her pivotal role in Uganda’s success.

Aweko’s standout performance against Namibia in the second group stage match, contributing 11 runs and securing 3 wickets, earned her the first Player of the Match accolade.
Her second Player of the Match award, derived from her impactful performance against Nigeria, not only contributed to Uganda’s top spot in Group B but also emphasized her invaluable role as captain.
Nimungu’s stellar performance restricted Nigeria to 63 runs, facilitating Uganda’s comfortable chase within fifteen overs.
Her third position in the bowling statistics with 9 wickets for 87 runs across 18.2 overs underscored her significant impact.
Henry Senyondo’s nomination stemmed from his exceptional performance during the ACA T20 Africa Cup’s second edition in Benoni, South Africa, where Uganda successfully defended the title.
Despite Uganda’s initial loss to Rwanda, Senyondo’s bowling figures of 3/12 showcased his talent.
In the game against Malawi, Senyondo’s crucial 2/19 aided Uganda’s victory, recovering from the prior loss.
His exceptional performance against Mozambique, securing 4/20 in four overs, earned him the Player of the Match award.
During the semifinal, Senyondo’s figures of 3/13 restricted Botswana to 62 runs, propelling Uganda to the finals undefeated.
