Former KCCA and Villa defender Kavuma joins second division side Katwe United

Former KCCA FC and SC Villa defender, Habib Kavuma has today joined FUFA Big League side Katwe United on a 3-year deal that is subject to review based on how he gets to perform.

The move was confirmed today afternoon on the Club’s official Social Media Channel Katwe United FC and here’s what it read;

Katwe United FC is delighted to announce the acquisition of former SC Villa Captain and defender Habib Kavuma.

Habib Kavuma, an experienced defender has previously featured for StarTimes Uganda Premier League defending champions KCCA FC, and Sports Club Villa and has been to the National Football League with APR.

The Club is expected to name the left-back cum central defender skipper as per the Club chairman and Makindye West legislator Allan Aloizious Ssewanyana.

We would want to have a captain with enough experience and leadership qualities.

Intimated Allan to The Touchline Sports.

At Katwe, Kavuma now joins former Express FC striker Tony Odur who is expected to become his assistant in the run to the club’s leadership.

The Club parted ways with Hassan Mubiru replacing him with renowned second-tier specialist Allan Kabonge who has promoted a number of Clubs into the top tier. However, things have not gone the same way for Katwe United in the first round.

Katwe United are bottom of the Elgon Group after the StarTimes FUFA Big League first round and will need to all it takes to avoid relegation.

Katwe United has in the same drive released 9 players including; Richard Kigozi, Joel Male, Kenneth Mudira, Ronald Sseku, Joshua Kariisa, and Denis Ojara among others.
