The Uganda men’s national football team, The Uganda Cranes has maintained its 84th rank in the latest FIFA men’s rankings released on Thursday.
Uganda also maintained their 17th spot amongst the African countries. The Cranes were ranked 84th for the last April as well but have not played any matches since.
Uganda remains the best ranked in the CECAFA region followed by Kenya who are now 102nd (world). Sudan (123rd), Rwanda (129th), Tanzania (137th), Ethiopia (140th), Burundi( 142nd), South Sudan (169th), Djibouti (183rd), Somalia ( 197th) and Eritrea( 203rd) follow in that order.
The Cranes are set to play South Africa in an International Friendly match on June 10th, 2021 at the Orlando Stadium.
South Africa also maintain their 75th spot in the world rankings and are 15th in Africa.
The 33 players that will be involved in that match were summoned on Wednesday evening by coach Abdallah Mubiru and will enter camp on Saturday morning at the Cranes Paradise Hotel.
The next FIFA/Coca-cola World Rankings will be published on 12th August 2021.
