The 2026 Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association (USSSA) Boys’ Football Championship has reached the quarter-final stage following thrilling round of 16 matches played in Lira City.
With qualification slots for the 2026 FEASSA Games in Morogoro, Tanzania at stake, eight schools remain in contention for national glory.
Reigning champions Buddo SS will face Kyadondo SS in the opening quarter-final at 9am at Lira Town College playground. London College Nansana will take on AMUS College School at 11am before Bukedea Comprehensive School South battles Masaka SS at 2pm.
The final quarter-final fixture will see tournament record winners St. Mary’s Kitende face NUMASA SS at 4pm.
AMUS College School head coach Richard Malinga said his side is fully aware of the importance of securing a place at the East African games.
“We have to fight hard for the East African slot. My players are aware of the magnitude of expectations at hand,” Malinga noted.
Masaka SS coach Rogers Rwebuga also anticipates a difficult contest against Bukedea Comprehensive School.
“Our match against Bukedea Comprehensive is unpredictable. We therefore need to give 100% with equal offense and defence,” he said.
