Fahad Bayo: Ugandan striker once again on target in Ashdod’s comeback win against Tel Aviv

Uganda international striker Fahad Bayo was once again on the scoresheet for Ashdod SC as they came from a goal down to defeat Happoel Tel Aviv 2-1 In the Israeli Premier League game played at Yud Alef Stadium.

Israeli forward Gil Itzhak broke the deadlock for Hapeol in the 5th minute but his goal was cancelled out by Bayo in 13th minute when he notched onto a wonderful ball from the right.

Ashdod then took the lead just before the halftime break through a Roei Gordana strike in the 44th minute.

The Ugandan International was subbed off in the 80th minute for another forward, Fares Abu Akel

Today’s goal is Fahad Bayo’s third goal in 12 league appearances and his second in two successive games, having struck also against Beitar Jerusalem last week.

With today’s win, Ashdod now move to third on the table, with 25 points garnered in 14 games and will play Maccabi Petah Tikva next week.
