Vipers SC forward Milton Karisa was involved in all the three goals for Uganda Cranes as they defeated Niger in the Pre-CHAN mini tournament game played in Yaounde.
The flying winger scored twice and assisted the other for Saidi Kyeyune as the Cranes went 3-0 in the opening quarter of the game.
Karisa broke the deadlock in the third minute after outpacing the Niger backline to place the ball past the Niger goalkeeper Issaka Oumarou and into the back of the net.
In the 10th minute, Karisa turned from goalscorer to goal provider when he slotted the ball to Saidi Kyeyune after a powerful run from the right. The URA FC midfielder made no mistake than to double the advantage.
Four minutes later, Karisa completed his brace after a perfect Joachim Ojera low cross found him inside the area to grab his second and Uganda’s third of the game.
With today’s win, the Cranes top the mini tournament having garnered seven points in their three game.
The Cranes drew 1-all with hosts, Cameroon, before beating Zambia 2-0 in their opening two games.
Focus will now shift to the CHAN finals which are scheduled between 16th January and 7th February 2021 in Cameroon.
Johnny McKinstry’s side are in Group C with defending champions Morocco, neighbors Rwanda and Togo.
