The Uganda Rugby Union( URU) has confirmed the 15-man team that will be travelled to Dubai for the Emirates Invitational 7s tournament.
The 12 players and 3 officials will travel to the United Arab Emirates capital on Thursday evening aboard the Emirates Airlines.
Michael Wokorach will captain the team that was invited by the organizers to participate in a competitive training camp in Dubai, aimed at supporting teams in their preparations for the Tokyo Olympics.
Asides Wokorach, there are other familiar names on the list including Phillip Wokorach, Aaron Ofyrowth, Solomon Okia and Pius Ogena.
Eight men’s and six women’s teams were invited for the event that will run from March 26, 2021 to April 11, 2021 at the Seven Stadium, Dubai.
The other men’s team include: Japan, Canada, Kenya, Spain, France, Argentina and Chile.
The Uganda rugby men’s sevens kickstarted their preparations early in January and have since held two training camps out of the city Kampala.
