Matchday Three of the Waterfalls Men’s T20 Elite tournament delivered a rollercoaster of rain, resilience, and thrilling finishes as the top three teams remained inseparably locked on points.

The day began with Karuma Rapids edging Bujjagali Rafters in a rain-affected encounter, only for the Rapids to later fall to Itanda Kayakerz in a tense afternoon clash.

In the morning, Bujjagali Rafters batted first after losing the toss, posting a competitive 200 for 7 in their 20 overs.

Fahad Mutagana was sensational, blasting 86 off 44 balls with seven fours and six sixes, while Robinson Obuya’s measured 39 and Gerald Olipa’s late blitz of 35 off 14 kept the innings on track.

Contributions from Robert Ajuna and Fred Achelam helped the Rafters reach a challenging total.

Karuma Rapids’ Cosmas Kyewuta then starred with the ball, claiming 3 for 21, as Henry Ssenyondo and Jordan Okecho maintained pressure in the middle overs.

Rain intervened, and the target was revised to 87 in 7 overs under the Duckworth–Lewis method.

Rapids embraced the shortened chase, with Kyewuta delivering a match-winning cameo of 31* off 8 balls, including four towering sixes.

Support from Ronald Lutaaya, Charles Musemeza, and Cyrus Kakuru ensured a comfortable 87/2 finish in six overs, handing Rapids a narrow but decisive victory.

The afternoon belonged to Itanda Kayakerz, who responded with composure against Rapids.

Chasing 156, they lost three early wickets, but Steve Wabwose’s steady 46 and captain Christopher Kidega’s match-turning 35 set the foundation.

Pius Oloka’s explosive 25* sealed a four-wicket win in 17.3 overs.

For Rapids, Charles Musemeza’s 44 and Ismail Munir’s 36 had given hope earlier, but their bowlers couldn’t contain the Kayakers’ depth.

By the close of Matchday Three, the series table told a story of perfect balance: Bujjagali Rafters, Karuma Rapids, and Itanda Kayakerz were tied on four points each, all having suffered a single defeat to one another.

With wins and losses identical, net run rate now becomes the crucial factor separating the trio.

As the competition moves forward, every run and wicket could tip the scales in this tightly contested title race.

Matchday Three concluded with the tournament still perfectly balanced.

After four matches each, Bujjagali Rafters, Karuma Rapids, and Itanda Kayakers all sit on four points, having recorded two wins and two losses apiece.

The Rafters will feature in the second double-header, facing Itanda Kayakers in the morning before returning against Karuma Rapids tomorrow.

The tournament has thrilled with close finishes, dominant run chases, and emphatic victories.

Bujjagali posted the highest team total (243/6), while Olipa Gerald leads with 174 runs, and Henry Ssenyondo tops the wickets chart with seven.
