Diaspora: previewing how Ugandan players abroad get to fare this weekend

Football resumes after a two-week International break and Ugandan players abroad are set to be in action this weekend with their respective teams.

In Turkey, Farouk Miya is expected to be in the starting lineup for Konyaspor as they host Yeni Malatyaspor in a Turkish Super Ligue encounter on Saturday evening. Miya has had to come off the bench in Konyaspor’s last two league games.

In Estonia, forward Edrisa Lubega is expected to keep his position when Paide Linnameskond takes on TJK Legion away from home in the Estonian Meistriliiga on Sunday afternoon.

In Sweden, both Ronald Mukiibi and Isaak Ssewankambo are expected to be in action for Ostersunds FK as they battle out with Sirius IFK in the Swedish Allsvenskan at Studenternas IP Stadium. Ssewankambo was an unused substitute while Ronald Mukiibi was absent in their side’s 4-2 win over Nykoping in the Svenska Cup played on Thursday.

Patrick Mulyanti is fit to start for IFK Amal as they take on Vänersborgs IF in the Division 2 game today.

Having featured last week, Ritah Kivumbi is expected to do the same this week when her side, Mallbacken IF takes on Brommapojkarna on Saturday evening in the Swedish Elitettan.

Viola Nambi is also poised to feature for her side, Växjö DFF when they travel to take on Uppsala in the Swedish Damallsvenskan.

In France, Dereck Kuteesa’s Reims FC will be back in action today evening as they play hosts to Lorient FC in French Ligue 1.

In Scotland, Defender Bevis Mugabi got injured during a club training session and will miss Motherwell FC’s visit to St. Mirren in the Scottish Premiership.

In the Danish Super League, Moses Opondo is expected to be in action as his Odense Boldkub side travels to the MCH arena to take on Midtjylland FC today evening.

Robert Kakeeto is expected to start for AaB Aalborg as they visit Parken to take on Copenhagen FC on Sunday evening.

In England, having made his debut against Blackburn Rovers, forward Ulke Ikpeazu Mubiru will hope he can make the matchday squad this side as his side, Wycombe Wanderers takes on Milwall FC at home today evening in the English Championship.

Having been called up to the Cranes Dubai camp and missed his team’s last league game, defender Elvis Bwomono is expected to slot back into the Southend’s starting lineup when they host Cheltenham in the English league II.

In Portugal, Alex Kakuba expects to feature when his CD Cova De Piedade battles Académico de Viseu FC In the Portuguese LigaPro.

In the USA, Mike Azira will expect to get more playing minutes s his Chicago Fires side takes on Sporting KC in the Major league Soccer.

In Congo, having played full-time in the last league game, Joseph Ochaya is expected to start for TP Mazembe when they take on Vita Club in the Vodacom Linafoot on Sunday.

In South Africa, Denis Onyango is expected to start in goal as Mamelodi Sundowns takes on Bloemfontein Celtics in the MTN 8 quarterfinals encounter today, while Moses Waiswa is expected to be fit as his side, SuperSport United FC battles Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila F.C in a game that is also happening today.
