All roads lead to Lugogo Cricket Oval today, Saturday 2nd August at 2:00 PM as Soroti City Cricket Club and Olila Cricket Club face off in the final of the 2025 UCA Women’s T20 League — their second consecutive meeting in the tournament’s showpiece match.

Both sides arrive unbeaten, having topped their groups with perfect records.

Soroti City dominated Group A with eight wins from eight, while Olila mirrored the feat in Group B.

Their semifinal performances were equally commanding: Soroti City thrashed Jinja SS by 54 runs, with Jimia Abdallah and Proscovia Alako starring with the bat and Christine Anayo impressing with the ball.

Olila dispatched Tornado Bees by 59 runs, thanks to Esther Iloku’s steady 40 and a game-changing spell of 4/9 from Devine Nyamer.

This year’s final carries added spice with key player swaps.

Ruth Akello, Achan Racheal, and Jimia Mohammed have crossed over to Soroti City from Olila, while Iloku now represents Olila after playing for Soroti last season.

The teams’ rivalry is steeped in recent history.

Soroti City edged Olila in the 2024 final by 16 runs, led by Alako’s unbeaten 43.

They also bested Olila in the 2023 group stage and clinched that title by a single point.

Fans should keep an eye on top performers: Malisa Ariokot (Olila) has 176 runs, while Mohammed (Soroti City) has tallied 155.

In the bowling ranks, Lorna Anyait (Olila) leads the pack with 20 wickets, followed closely by Nyamer with 18.

With pride, bragging rights, and a title on the line, this final promises high drama.

Can Soroti City complete a historic three-peat, or will Olila finally seize their moment?
