Zambia captain Grace Chanda netted the lone goal of the game to eliminate Uganda from the 2021 COSAFA Women’s Championship in South Africa.
Chanda helped Zambia defeat Uganda in the group C game played at the Nelson Bay Stadium.
Her goal came in the 37th minute of the game after she set up by her striking partner Ochumba Lubandji.
Despite having four points, Uganda has been eliminated as they finish second in group C, five points behind Zambia who qualify to the semi-finals.
Uganda’s loss means Malawi has also qualified to the semis as the best second-placed team of the tournament. Malawi had 6 points in group A.
The Crested Cranes will now shift their focus to the 2022 Africa Women’s Cup of Nations Qualifiers where they will play Ethiopia at the first round phase.
