The Uganda Women’s National Football team coach George Lutalo has dropped six players from his Crested Cranes provisional squad ahead of the COSAFA tournament in South Africa.

Lady Doves striker Fazila Ikwaput is among the six dropped while the others dropped include Elsie Najjemba (Rines WFC), Joan Naggayi (She Maroons FC), Kautharah Naluyima (She Maroons FC) Grace Nassongo (Amura High School) and Justin Kizza Najjuko (She Maroons FC).

Currently 24 players remain in the camp at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru and will be joined by Yudaya Nakayenze and Shiraz Natasha in South Africa before the start of the COSAFA tournament.

This 26-man squad will be trimmed to a final 20 that will travel for the tournament on 27th September 2021.

Uganda is pooled in Group C with Zambia, Eswatini and Namibia.
