Corporate Sports Network 2025: Entertainment, thrilling Football take centre stage as 2nd Edition kicks off in Luzira

On a cool dry Sunday morning, the Corporate Sports Network’s (CSN) second Edition kicked off at the Maroons Grounds, Luzira with Corporate social networking, Soccer, Nyama Choma and Fun Games put in  place to make up a beautiful outing.

In thrilling fashion, it delivered high octane action, unexpected surprises, and unforgettable moments that showcased the passion and competitiveness of corporate football.

However, before the intensity of the matches took over, the event’s opening ceremony was graced by a spectacular performance from the Uganda Prisons Brass Band.

The band captivated the audience with masterful renditions of popular military and secular tunes, creating a vibrant atmosphere that set the perfect tone for the day’s activities.

Their melodies resonated across Luzira, engaging fans and players alike in a unified celebration of music and sport.

Adding to the excitement, the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS) made a memorable debut, not only on the pitch but also as enthusiastic supporters of the Prisons Brass Band’s electrifying performance.

Under the humid skies of Luzira, teams wasted no time in making their mark, setting the stage for what promises to be an electrifying season.

One of the standout moments of the opening round was Uganda Electricity Transmission Company Limited’s (UETCL) stunning victory over overall defending champions Centenary Bank.

In a tightly contested match, UETCL clinched a 1-0 win, proving that this season will be anything but predictable.

From the very first whistle, teams exhibited exceptional preparation and determination.

The early fixtures featured intense battles, fast-paced play, and moments of individual brilliance from both seasoned veterans and emerging talents.

Debutants ABSA Bank showcased resilience with an impressive performance against Centenary Bank, holding them to a gripping 2-2 draw and signaling that they will not be pushovers in the competition.

One of the defining aspects of the opening rounds was the sheer unpredictability on display. Several teams defied expectations with commanding performances.

Africa Global Logistics, DHL, and SGA Security delivered electrifying displays, adding to the excitement and keeping fans on the edge of their seats.

Off the field, the atmosphere was equally electric.

A legion of traditional drummers, ferried in by URA, brought pulsating rhythms to the event, enhancing the celebratory spirit.

Their unmatched performance set the tone for an exhilarating season ahead.

For players, the season opener provided a unique energy. There was a palpable hunger and drive in their performances as they sought to make their mark early.

Among the early contenders, last season’s football champions showed no signs of slowing down.

They dominated their matches with clinical efficiency, steamrolling debutants Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA) 4-0, dismantling DHL 3-0, and edging fellow bankers DTB Bank 1-0, all while maintaining a clean sheet.
