CHAN Qualifiers: Micho names starting XI for Uganda against Tanzania

Uganda Cranes coach Milutin Micho Sredejovic has named the team to face Tanzania in a 2023 CHAN Qualifier first leg game at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium in Tanzania.

Nafian Alionzi beats Mathias Muwagga for starting place in the post.

Youngster Ibrahim Juma earns his competitive debut for the senior side at Left back while Gavin Kizito starts at the opposite flank.

Livingstone Mulondo and John Revita have been paired in the heart of defence in a 4-man backline.

Siraje Sentamu will anchor the midfield alongside Marvin Youngman and Moses Waiswa.

Rogers Mato, Martin Kizza and Captain Milton Karisa form the three-man forward line, who shoulder the scoring burden for the Cranes.

Muwagga, James Begisa, Travis Mutyaba, Kenneth Ssemakula, Saidi Kyeyune, Derrick Ndahiro and Richard Basangwa are the substitutes.

The second leg of this game will play on next weekend at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende in Uganda with the aggregate winner after two legs qualifying to the final tournament slated for January, 2023 in Algeria.
