CECAFA U-20 Women’s Championship: 13 Star Uganda obilterate Djibouti at Njeru

Uganda U-20 Women’s Team scored for fun to obilterate Djibouti in a one-sided eventful CECAFA Women’s Championship at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru.

Striker Fauzia Najjemba found the back of the net six times, Haddijah Nandago a brace while Catherine Nagadya, Shamirah Nalugya, Shakirah Nyingahirwa, Asia Nakibuuka and Namaganda Zaituni added a goal each in a game that ended 13-0.

Najjemba takes her goal tally to eight, having netted twice against Burundi in the Uganda’s first game while Nandago also has three in two games now.

The victory takes Ayub Khalifa’s side top of the log with a whopping 17 goal difference.

They play Eritrea in the next game on Wednesday, before battling both Tanzania and Ethiopia in their two last games.

Today’s victory equals Uganda’s biggest win in their football history, having also beaten South Sudan with the same scoreline in a World Cup Qualifiers in 2013.
