Can City Oilers defend the title for the seventh time?


NBL Defending champions City Oilers will take on UCU Canons in the best of seven series finals starting with game 1 on Wednesday 27th November at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Mandy Juruni’s side are six-time defending champions and are hoping to make it 7 in 7 at the end of the seven game series.

The Oilers overcame Ndejje 2-1 in the quarterfinals to book a semi-finals encounter with Pemba Warriors.

In the Semifinals, City Oilers fought off a warriors test 3-1 to book a place in their 7th consecutive final.

Meanwhile,  UCU soared through the quarterfinals of the playoffs at the expense of KCCA.

In the Semifinals, they came from a game down to outclass Betway Powers 3-1 in the best of five series.

Mandy Juruni’s side will miss the services of Francis Azolibe, Stephen Umong and Jonathan Egau who are all sidelined with injuries while Jimmy Enabu faces a late fitness test to confirm his availability.

A youthful UCU Cannons have nothing to lose as they defied all the odds in Semi-finals against Betway Powers.

They will need to be disciplined both offessively and defensively so as to stop the Six-times defending champions

In the Lady’s Finals, UCU Lady Canons will lock horns with last year’s winners JKL Lady Dolphins for the start of the major honour seven games serie in the other game of the day.
