Busiro secured a dramatic 1-0 victory over Buluuli on Sunday evening in a thrilling Masaza Cup matchday three encounter held at Sentema Ssaza Ground. The match was decided by a last-gasp header from super-sub Michael Jinta, who came off the bench to rescue all three points for the 2022 Masaza champions.

The 22-year-old forward, signed from Gomba last season, rose to the occasion in the dying minutes of the game. Connecting with a well-delivered in-swinging cross from second-half substitute Eric Wabuzibu, Jinta powered a header past the resolute Buluuli goalkeeper to seal the win for Busiro.

Jinta’s impact was immediate and decisive, earning him the Man of the Match award. Speaking after the game, a delighted Jinta expressed his pride in contributing to the team’s success and promised to continue improving.

“I’m happy to help the team when called upon. Being named Man of the Match is a great motivation. I’ll keep pushing to help Busiro achieve our goals this season,” he said.

The match was far from easy for Busiro. Despite dominating possession and creating numerous chances, they were repeatedly denied by Buluuli’s goalkeeper, who put in a string of outstanding saves in the first half.

However, Busiro’s persistence eventually paid off. Head coach Kiyimba Dennis praised his side’s resilience after the match, acknowledging the quality of the opposition.

“Buluuli are a strong side, and we had to work hard for this win. I’m proud of how the boys stayed focused and executed the plan until the very end,” Kiyimba commented.

With this important victory, Busiro now turn their attention to their next group stage fixture against Ssese, set to take place at Lutoboka Playground. A win there would further strengthen their push for a strong run in this year’s Masaza Cup tournament.
