Vipers SC players Halid Lwaliwa and Bobosi Byaruhanga have been named amongst the squad Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin Sredojevic “Micho” has named that will travel to Ethiopia on Thursday.
The duo miss out as they are in process of securing move away from Vipers SC.
“Two players from Vipers SC namely Halid Lwaliwa and Bobosi Byaruhanga are in process of securing Visas to go for professional stints but confirmation will about the teams will come from Vipers SC.” Micho indicated after releasing the travelling squad.
Aside from Bobosi and Halid, four Vipers SC players have been included in the final squad to Ethiopia. These are Marvin Joseph Youngman, Livingstone Mulondo, Siraje Sentamu and Milton Karisa.
The team that Micho has summoned for Ethiopia’s two friendlies include three goalkeepers, eight defenders, five midfielders and six forwards.
The first friendly will take place on Friday, 19th August 2022 while the second friendly will take place on Sunday, 21st August before the team departs to Zanzibar ahead of first leg of CHAN qualifier game against Tanzania on 28th August at Benjamin Mkapa National Stadium.
The second leg will be played on 3rd September at St. Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.
The aggregate winner between Uganda and Tanzania will qualify to the final tournament slated for January, 2023 in Algeria.
