Bika football tournament: Lugave, Ndiga make it to final

Lugave 2-0 Kkobe

Ffumbe 3-2 Ndiga

Second leg.

Kkobe 2-2 Lugave (2-4)

Ndiga 3-0 Ffumbe (5-3)

After a 2-2 draw, three time champions Kkobe make it to the final on the expense of six time champions Lugave clan at Mutessa ll stadium Wankulukuku.

In the other semi final the Ndiga clan surprised Ffumbe in the second leg scoring 3-0 courtesy of a Dan Mzee Sserunkuma hatrick to make up a 5-3 aggregate.

Ffumbe Clan didn’t have their star man Martin Kizza Lubwama who was away on international duty with Cranes in Ethiopia and he’s void was hardly covered.

Into the game action,

In the 23rd minute, Allan Kayiwa had already put Kkobe clan ahead in the game. Eight minutes later, Lugave levelled matters after putting pressure on the Kkobe clan defence.

With few minutes into the second half, BUL forward Karim Ndugwa scored to put the Lugave clan ahead taking his goal tally to 6 goals.

In a blink of an eye after long spells of possession by the Kkobe clan, they levelled matters through a Samuel Kayongo Sekamate that was awarded to them by referee Wasswa Alex.

Therefore, Lugave advance to the finals on a 4-2 aggregate having won the first leg 2-0.

After eighteen(18) years without getting their hands on the Bika trophy, Lugave progressed to the finals and will hope of collecting another.

They will face Sserunkuma’s Ndiga clan who have had an impressive tournament.

Apart from Sserunkuma who has put up 9 goals to his name in this tournament so far, Ibrahim Kasinde of Ffumbe clan has also been great in this edition scoring  5 goals.

The date for the finals will be communicated by the organising committee.
