Batball program returns after a year of inactivity with the first edition of Batball MAXX with the primary goal of driving youth cricket development across the country.
The tournament is in the works to be tossed off in the middle of December 2024, featuring four teams.
Each team will include four players from the Batball youth ecosystem, as part of the playing eleven.
This came to light after Batball Uganda Limited announced a new four-year partnership with the Uganda Cricket Association.
In this agreement, Batball will work closely with UCA’s Schools Development Program to organize underage cricket tournaments with an intention focus on identifying, developing, and exposing young cricket talent across Uganda.
It will also also aims to commercialize youth cricket by creating content, securing sponsorships, and building brand visibility to enhance the sport’s reach and impact.
Batball has successfully organized a number of tournaments which include; Batball Open 2022/23 that was held across five regions of Uganda from December 2022 to April 2023, followed by Batball X 2023 later in August that year played both in Jinja and Kampala.
The inaugural Batball X was won by the Central Rhinos after beating Rwanda Emerging in the final at the Cricket Oval in Lugogo.
This year, BATBALL promises a better experience that will be accompanied with performances, music, and international players to create a grand spectacle, showcasing the young cricket talent of Uganda on a larger platform.
