After months of speculation, former SC Villa striker Bashir Mutanda has finally found a new club following a move to StarTimes UPL side Mbarara City FC.
Mutanda has today, Wednesday morning been unveiled as Mbarara City’s new addition at Kati Kati restaurant, putting pen to paper on a two-year employment contract with the Ankole Lions.
Mutanda was a vital key player in the Jogoos side for the last two seasons after joining from Vipers in 2018 and is expected to fill the void left by departed striker Brian Aheebwa at Mbarara.

Before joining Mbarara, Mutanda received several offers in and outside Uganda but he opted to stay and sign with the Ankole Lions.
He becomes Mbarara City’s fourth signing of the ongoing transfers window and joins Ramathan Kareem, Ronald Edwok and Godfrey Kalungi who moved to the west in the last few weeks.
Mbarara City FC finished seventh on the Uganda Premier League table last season with 36 points from 25 games played as the league was abruptly ended due to the pandemic.
