Aziz Damani Development Cricket Club culminated their season as the illustrious champions of the fiercely contested UCA Men’s 50-over league Division One.

Their journey through this competitive league, stemming from the exhilarating T20 opener, unfolded as a testament to their skill and resilience, particularly evident in their recent resurgence after a tie against Wanderers Cricket Club.

The climax of their stellar season was marked by a resounding 6-wicket victory against Challengers Cricket Club at the Jinja SS cricket oval.

This pivotal game witnessed Henry Ssenyondo’s extraordinary performance, claiming the coveted ‘man of the match’ title as he scalped four wickets for Aziz Daman Development, restricting Challengers to a mere 78 all out in 30 overs.

The influential Brian Masaba, instrumental in guiding the team during the T20 World Cup, continued his remarkable form. His impactful contributions included claiming a crucial wicket for Damani and a blistering knock of 33 off 22 balls, pivotal in securing the required runs by the fifteenth over.

Accruing an impressive 17 points from 9 games, comprising eight victories and a solitary tie without facing any losses, catapulted Damani Development to the zenith of the table, clinching the Division One trophy for the season.

This accomplishment propelled them ahead of sister club Aziz Damani Cricket Club, who closely followed in the second position with 16 points from their nine games.

Meanwhile, the unfortunate fate of relegation from the first division befell Avengers Cricket Club and Africa Cricket Club

In the second division, Aziz Daman Ismaili Community Team solidified their berth in Division One, securing it based on a superior Net run rate.

Their emphatic 3-wicket victory over Rounders Cricket Club at Mwiri Cricket Oval underscored their deserving qualification, with a game still in hand.

Notably, despite being tied on 15 points with Tornado Cricket Club, Ismaili Community’s superior Net run rate solidified their place in the upcoming Division One season.
