StarTimes UPL: Ajo late winner gives Busoga edge over KCCA

  • Busoga United 2-1 KCCA
  • Express 0-1 Maroons
  • Arua Hill 2-0 UPDF

Emmanuel Ajo scored late inorder for Busoga United to beat KCCA 2-1 in a game that was delayed by rain at FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru on Friday.

Dominic Ayella’s strike found the back of the net for KCCA with just 25 minutes on the clock on a unplayable pitch but Ronald Kasamba equalised for the hosts six minutes later.

Only forty minutes were played on the opening half due since the game had started later inorder to get enough equal time for the second half to be played.

Having played the first half under minimal lightening from the floodlights, the closing half was no different as both sides couldn’t put together four or more passes.

With three minutes left to close the half (77th), a long ball from veteran defender Isaac Isinde found unmarked Ajo who beat the offside trap to slot home the winner home for the hosts.

This result leaves KCCA in 15th with only four points and Busoga in 9th with 10 points after the eight games played.

In their next fixture KCCA are set to host  Gaddafi in Lugogo while Busoga United will visit 16-time champions SC Villa at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku
