The Uganda men’s basketball team is set to fly out to Egypt this Saturday ahead of the FIBA AfroBasket qualifiers scheduled for 27th – 29th November 2020 in Alexandria, Egypt.
The Silverbacks contingent that includes local-based players, coaches, and officials are expected to take a flight to Egypt from the Entebbe International Airport on Saturday night aboard the Emirates Airlines.
Uganda was pitted in Pool E alongside hosts Egypt, Morroco, and Cape Verde, the winners of the Per-Qualifier tournament in Cameroon.
From the 12 local-based players that started preps almost a month ago, seven have made the cut and will be joined by five foreign-based players for a training camp in Egypt before the tournament gets underway in a fortnight at the Kamal Shalaby Venue.
The five foreign-based players include:- Robinson Opondo, Deng Gau, Ismail Wainwright, Eric Rwahwire, and Emmanuel Mugenga
