Cranes head coach Jonathan McKinstry has named Wycombe Wanderers forward Uche Ikpeazu Mubiru and Southend’s defender Elvis Bwomomo in a 20-man squad of professional players summoned for the doubleheader against South Sudan in the AFCON qualifiers next month.
The two players will be looking forward to earning their first international cap after Bwomono was part of the Cranes squad that camped in Dubai earlier this month while IKpeazu missed out.
The squad summoned on Thursday 15th has seen striker Derrick Nsibambi make a return to the Cranes team after a brilliant performance at his club Smouha.
The local-based players will be summoned on a later date but will only be limited to a number of five who will make it to the squad.
The doubleheader qualifier against South Sudan will be played next month on November 6th – 14th for the first and second legs respectively.
Uganda is currently leading the group standings with 4-points only ahead of Burkina Faso with a good goal difference.
