Abubakar Kasule: Defensive midfielder completes Red Eagles return

Defensive midfielder Abubakar Kasule has completed his move back to StarTimes Uganda Premier League side Express FC, it’s official.

This was confirmed by the club on Wednesday morning after the midfielder had finished putting pen to paper on a two-year employment contract.

“As an Express FC fan, it has always been my dream to sign for the club and play for it. I am happy to finally be back and am sure I will do my best to help it win.”

Kasule a product of the COPA COCA COLA National school’s tournament with Kibuli SS joined Express FC in 2017 putting up impressive performances that earned his a call up in the Uganda Hippos (U20) team that represented Uganda at the COSAFA U20 tournament in Zambia that very year.

Following impressive displays with the Hippos in Zambia, Kasule shockingly made the final 23 man squad that represented Uganda in the 2018 CHAN tournament in Morocco.

After the tournament, it was alleged that he was on the verge of joining Zambian side Buildcon FC only for the deal to collapse at the eleventh hour thus deciding to go to USA for studies at the University of Cincinnati.

He becomes Express’ latest new addition this window after Benjamin Gakumba, David Lukwago, Hassan Mubiru, Kada Bitakazibwa, Andrew Kaggwa, Anwar Mustafa Ntege, Allan Kayiwa, Abdul Kimera and Hussein Ssenonga.
