In the amateur categories, Joseph Cwinya-ai (Gross Men) and Peace Kabasweka (Gross Women) took top honors. Perez Muhwezi and Rose Azuba were the overall winners on stableford points on Saturday.

The Captain’s Bell tournament is an annual event hosted by the Uganda Golf Club, where the newly elected captain hosts members in a tournament and unveils his new committee at the beginning of his term in office.

Paul Rukundo is the new captain after having been elected into office in March to succeed Emmanuel Wamala.

Rukundo will work alongside Owachi Jerry ( vice captain), Emmanuel Wamimbi ( Vice secretary) and Walter Tuhahirwa ( Treasurer).

Speaking at the 19th hole ceremony to climax the Captain’s Bell, Rukundo spoke about the tournament’s history and what it has fostered over the years.

“For over 70 years, the Captain’s Bell Tournament has united exceptional players, colleagues, and friends,” Rukundo remarked as quoted by Sports Nation

“Our community has flourished thanks to the unwavering support of partners like Absa Bank Uganda. We deeply value their dedication to enhancing the sport of golf in Uganda.”
