Abbey Bogere Kikomeko has extended his stay at Jinja side BUL FC, signing a new two-year contract that will keep him at the helm through the 2026/27 season.

The extension comes as a vote of confidence from the club’s management, following a period of steady progress and improved performances under his leadership. BUL FC CEO Joseph Mutaka praised Bogere’s impact, noting that his ability to develop young talent and foster a disciplined playing style aligns perfectly with the club’s long-term ambitions.

Bogere returned to BUL in June 2023 on a three-year deal and wasted no time laying the foundation for a more competitive side. Known for his tactical discipline and developmental approach, he guided the club to strong league performances and reinvigorated their status among Uganda’s top-tier football teams.

Even during his six-month suspension in the 2024/25 season, BUL remained competitive, with assistant coach Simeon Masaba helping maintain the momentum of Bogere’s system.

Since his return, Bogere has guided BUL to a FUFA Super 8 title, pushed the team to a top-five league finish, and spurred them to the Stanbic Uganda Cup quarterfinals. Kikomeko has also integrated several promising young players into the senior squad, proving his strength in youth development and mentorship.

After signing his extension, Bogere reaffirmed his vision for the club’s future:

“The target remains the same, to win the league. I believe with the foundation we’ve built, that goal is within reach,” he said.

His renewed contract signals the club’s intent to continue challenging for top honours while also building a sustainable, homegrown squad.

With the 2025/26 campaign approaching, BUL FC will look to build on recent momentum, and Bogere’s return ensures tactical consistency and provides a stable platform for the next generation of talent emerging through the club’s ranks.

BUL fans can now look ahead with optimism as the club enters its next chapter with Abbey Bogere Kikomeko, a familiar coach in the region and the league, firmly in charge.
