Blacks Power returned to winning ways with a crucial 1-0 victory over Kataka during their FUFA Big League encounter on Sunday at Mbale Stadium. Andrea Ogwel’s solitary goal was enough to secure all three points for the visitors, marking a much-needed turnaround for Bob Obira’s side.

The win not only earned Blacks Power maximum points on the road but also saw them complete a season double over Kataka, having beaten them earlier in the campaign. This victory was particularly significant as it ended their winless streak that stretched back to January when they last triumphed in a 2-1 win against Gaddafi in Lira. Since then, they had endured a rough patch, suffering a defeat to Busoga United and settling for draws against Arua Hill and Booma.

With this hard-fought win, Blacks Power now sit just a point behind league leaders Buhimba Saints, accumulating 34 points from 17 games. The result not only boosts their title ambitions but also restores confidence as they push for promotion.

Elsewhere, Ntugasaze continued their resurgence with a 1-0 away win over Onduparaka FC in Arua. James Jarieko’s 28th-minute strike proved decisive as they claimed their second consecutive victory.

Having come off a 3-1 home win against Calvary FC in their previous fixture, Ntugasaze are now climbing up the table. They currently sit 10th with 22 points, level with 11th-placed Onduparaka, who find themselves in dire form after suffering five consecutive defeats.

Onduparaka will now seek redemption in their next match against Gaddafi FC, while Ntugasaze will look to extend their winning streak when they host Paidha Black Angels on Sunday.
