As 2024 unfolds, Soroti Cricket Academy (SCA) proudly commemorates a monumental milestone: its 10th anniversary.
The celebrations culminate tonight with a grand Dinner and Awards Night at Plot 111, Oiko Lane, Oderai, in Soroti City.
What began as a modest initiative in the heart of Soroti has flourished into a hub of cricketing excellence, nurturing the dreams of countless young cricketers.
This year, the academy’s trophy cabinet stands as a glowing testament to a decade of passion, perseverance, and triumphs that have crossed borders and broken barriers.
Nestled in the academy’s vibrant clubhouse, the trophy cabinet is more than a collection of accolades—it is a narrative of SCA’s remarkable rise in Ugandan cricket.
Each trophy symbolizes not only victory but also the growth of players, the forging of friendships, and the empowerment of boys and girls in the sport.
The year 2024 has been particularly special for SCA, marked by outstanding achievements in various competitions.
In January, SCA’s U17 Girls made history during their tour to Rwanda, clinching the tournament title in their first international appearance—a groundbreaking achievement for Ugandan girls’ cricket.
Later that month, the U18 Girls Invitational Tournament in Gulu saw SCA’s dominance as SCA A triumphed over SCA B in an all-hub final, showcasing the depth of talent within the academy.
May brought even more pride as two SCA-affiliated teams reached the finals in the Girls Schools Cricket Week.
Light SS emerged victorious over Olila High School in a thrilling match, further solidifying the academy’s influence on youth cricket in Uganda.
On the national stage, SCA’s senior players excelled in the National Ladies T20 League, where Soroti City Cricket Club, representing the academy, clinched the title, while Olila High School finished as runners-up.

The Mini Cricket Regional Tournament, held in Mbale, showcased SCA’s youngest talents as Swaria P/S UII (Boys) and Nakatunya P/S U11 (Girls) both win trophies.

SCA’s influence extends beyond trophies, reaching the grassroots to inspire the next generation of cricketers.
Primary Schools like Pamba, Marengo, Swaria and Nakatunya Primary School have benefited from SCA’s development programs, ensuring even rural talents have a platform to shine.
As Soroti Cricket Academy celebrates its decade-long journey, the achievements of 2024 encapsulate its vision: fostering talent, breaking boundaries, and inspiring dreams.
Tonight’s Dinner and Awards Night is a tribute to the academy’s incredible journey—a story of transformation, triumphs, and a future filled with promise
