Uganda bag another win at the Cape Town International Convention Centre after coming out on top of an African derby.
She Cranes came back to winning ways in their game 57-46 against Malawi having previously lost to South Africa.
Margret Bagaala returned from sickness to get back into the team but goal attacker Shadia Nassanga was the spark on the day as she partnered with goal shooter Mary Nuba upfront to lighten up Uganda’s performance.
The two helped contribute the 14 goals in the first quarter in order to balance the scoreline to end it 14-14 .
Just like Nassanga centre Takondwa Lwazi was also up to the task as picked up seven asissts in the same period.
In the second quater, Malawi lost Wing Attacker Jane Chimaliro to injury just like Goal Defender Christine Nakitto to injury.
In the third quarter, Uganda fought had to lead  43-35 with Nassanga leading the way with 29 goals and 12 assists only for Nuba to seal it with 14 goals plus Baagala’s 19 assists.
All this effort sealed Uganda’s win in Cape Town result and means Uganda will either finish fifth or sixth at 2023 Netball World Cup.
Uganda are likely to play South Africa again as they fight for the fifth place.
