Zimbabwe National Football headcoach, Micheal Nees praises Namboole training facility

Both Kenya and Zimbabwe are set host their September AFCON 2025 qualifiers at Mandela National stadium, Namboole.

Zimbabwe who arrived in the country on Sunday 1st September 2024 evening will play away to Kenya in Group J September 6th.

Uganda will entertain Congo on September 9th with Zimbabwe hosting five time African champions Cameroon on September 10th.

With different talk of if the stadium will be ready, in an interview with Clive Kyazze, Lt. Col. Eng Peter Sseku Kidemuka came out and confirmed that it will ready;

“As it is now we can host matches, there is nothing much because all is has cured.” he stated

“First of all players don’t play football on the tertium, they do on a pitch that is very ready.”

“However the ball boys will be on the surface try to collect balls back to the pitch, but according to experts it has been rested for two weeks so its ready therefore we shall host all these matches with breaks of three to five days.” he concluded

The Warriors Head Coach Michael Nees appreciative of the FUFA support and Mandela National Stadium training facilities ahead of  clash with Kenya.

“First of all we are happy to be here in Uganda, the conditions are very good” he praised

Zimbabwe warriors during their first training session at Namboole.

“Am sure this is one of the best training pitches in the all of Africa . we also appreciate the support we have got so far from the Federation of Uganda Football Association.” he added

“We had a long travel so the session held on Tuesday was not intense but we are ready to play the game with a reduced squad, reduced necessity and also focus a bit of what to expect we are satisfied today so far so perfect.” Nees concluded
