The Ethiopian arrived crossed the finish line at the Valencia half marathon on Sunday a second faster than Kiplimo did three years ago in the Portuguese capital of Lisbon.

Kejelcha’s new world stands at 57:30 and before doing that, the 27year old had only run five half marathons. He also holds the world indoor mile record.

Like Kejelcha, Kiplimo has also took off one second from the Kenyan Kibiwott Kandie’s record in in 2021.
