YMCA tactician, Kalyesubula blames loss on rain

After a defeat in their opening game against Makerere University Business School (MUBS), YMCA head coach Michael Kalyesubula blamed his side’s loss in the University Football League on the rain.

On Monday evening, two time University Football League champions, MUBS edged YMCA by a 1-0 score at their Buwambo Campus thanks to a rebound from defender, Lasu Thomas in the 21st minute.

In a game where we saw MUBS enjoying the largest chunk of ball possession, YMCA got most of their chances in the second half and could have had a goal in the closing stages but we’re not clinical.

However after the game, YMCA head coach Kalyesubula blamed his side’s loss on the rain;

“Football on a slippery pitch is tricky, we created many chances but we failed to convert them, I believe we shall win the next fixture, he said

It’s not a long way to get out of the group, we have more games at home and we can also win away from home, we only need to rectify our mistakes.”He added and concluded

This loss pushes YMCA 4th in group B with no point and -1 goal difference in one game right below MUBS, Islamic university in Uganda and Victoria University.

However on the other side, MUBS have become the first team to win an away fixture in the 11th edition of the UFL.

The next league game will be played on Tuesday as Muni University take on Ndejje University in Arua.
