We are not under any pressure – Kajoba affirms ahead of SUPL clash

Newly appointed Vipers SC coach Fred Kajoba has noted that his side is not under any pressure ahead of their matchday 19 encounter with Mbarara City FC  in the StarTimes Uganda Premier League.

Vipers SC were happy to avoid a trip to Mbarara and will instead travel to Bombo to face stubborn Mbarara City FC at the Bombo Barracks grounds.

The Venoms have lost their last 2 games in all competitions and their lead at the top of the league standings has been reduced to only 4 points having and currently having 42 points in 18 games.

Due to that poor run of form, Edward Golola and his technical staff were dismissed on Thursday afternoon and Former Bright Stars FC coach Fred Kajoba was appointed the interim coach of the club until the end of 2019-20 SUPL season.

The hosts, Mbarara City FC will hope to continue with their home run after winning their last games at home (2-1 against KCCA FC and 1-0 against Wakiso Giants FC).They sit 10th on the log with 22 points in 18 games.

Despite Vipers SC being only 4 points ahead of holders KCCA FC, new Vipers SC coach Fred Kajoba says his team is not under any pressure and are focused on winning the title.

We are still in the lead and not under any pressure ahead of our next games. We are focused on working to give the team the best and the boys are fired up for this cause.

Vipers SC will welcome back their senior Captain Halid Lwaliwa after the Skipper missed the teams last two games due to injury and compassionate leave.

Fabian Mutombora and Karim Watambala are also expected to be back after shaking off minor injuries, they suffered last week.

Paul Muccurezi is in line to face his former masters on Tuesday evening after the forward left the Ankole lions in December 2018 after his contract expiration.

Bashir Asiku, Shaban Muhammad, Rashid Toha and Livingstone Mulondo are still on the sidelines.

The hosts meanwhile will be without Jude Ssemugambi and Bamba Soulyamane. Jude is out with a tooth injury while Bamba will be serving his suspension after accumulating 3 yellow cards.

The reserve fixture at the St Marys Stadium,Kitende ended in a 2-2 stalement in a guy that Fahad Bayo scored both goals for the Kitende side.

The two teams have met on 5 different occasion with Mbarara City winless in all those attempts. Vipers have won 2 and the other 3 have ended in Stalements.
