UVL: UCU Doves down Sport-S in Final series

The Doves traveled back to Mukono with a smile after topping a five-set match in the volleyball finals against Sport-S.

The UCU Doves won the game 3-2 to beat the odds by the help of patience team work and intelligence when everyone expected Sport S to win.

With a show like that, they are now one of the favorites to win the national volleyball league title despite facing a tough challenge in the match after being 2-1 down in the first three sets.

Into the game, the first set was won by the Doves by two points (25-23), the second and third by Sport-S on the same score line (25-18) something that sunk into the Doves players.

In the fourth set Doves came back with a commanding performance to put up 26 points, two more than Sports -S only to seal it off in the fifth with (16-14) to take the day.

This means the Mukono based side, UCU Doves are now just one win away from claiming the title.

They will need to be tidy and alert inorder to build on their performance and secure victory in the next and final match if they win.

Note that just like all the other UCU teams( UCU Cardinals, UCU Canons and Lady Canons) this too is composed of university students who are at different stages of their academic journey something that shouldn’t surprise you if the team faces change the following season.

The statement above also portrays/ shows why the performance graph moves up and down in that the previous season Doves were fighting to stay in the League and now are in the finals up against the top-ranked Sport-S.
