URA FC have parted ways with head coach Jimmy Kintu Mwera after a difficult start to the 2026/27 Uganda Premier League season.

The Tax Collectors confirmed on Monday that they had mutually agreed to terminate Kintu’s contract, with his backroom team also leaving the club.

First Assistant Coach Godfrey Magoba, Second Assistant Coach Sharon Kizza, Fitness Coach Joshua Kigozi and Video Analyst Peter Creed have all departed alongside Kintu.

The decision comes just two days after URA suffered a 3-2 defeat to Blacks Power in Bukedea.

Dissan Galiwango scored twice for URA, but his brace was not enough to prevent another defeat.

The result left the Tax Collectors with just four points from their opening six matches. Their only victory came on the opening day against Maroons at Wankulukuku.

Since then, URA have drawn 0-0 with UPPC and lost to KCCA, NEC, SC Villa and Blacks Power.

The poor run has left URA 15th in the table and inside the relegation zone.

Kintu joined URA at the start of the season from Express FC, taking charge of a side that finished 11th last season after winning just five games.

His departure leaves the club searching for a new technical direction, but there is little time to dwell on the change.

URA are back in action on Tuesday when they face UPDF at Ham Stadium, with the Tax Collectors needing a response after four defeats in their opening six games.
